what does the MTO have to do with you getting your suspension installed?

consider this your crash course:

to get it into first, turn the car off, and make sure that it has stopped rolling. put it into
first, then, plant your foot on the gas, and turn the key. the starter will get ya going, and as
long as your foot is on the gas, you'll start a-moving. then, wind first gear out to whatever
RPM, and when you decide to shift into the next gear, lightly pull the shifter out of first, and
lightly hold it over second gear. try and match the gear shift with a 1000rpm drop in revs.

in other words, pull the car out of first at 5000rpm, and by the time the revs come down to
4000rpm, make sure that you are lightly holding the shifter over 2nd. the shifter should just
fall into gear. repeat for all successive gears.

if you miss your window of opportunity, simply rev the car up, but don't try pulling it into gear
as the revs are climbing. get it in there as they come down.

also, **DO NOT FORCE IT INTO GEAR**, unless you want to turn your syncros into pieces of brass
dust.

downshifting is the same as upshifting, only i'm not sure if you can jam it into first due to lack
of syncros on the gear. i mean, i suppose you could double-clutch , and muck about with it, but i
never bother.

i just bought one last week for less than $10. go to UAP/NAPA, and ask for the non-impact,
shallow, 1/2" 30mm socket.
