RE: [VWoT] 81 rocco vs the heathens

so, i've got a kill story from last night.

rolling in the GLX on the 401.  some kid in a red
mk2 jetta goes past in the right lane and is
closely followed by a yellow mazda 3, 5, 6,
whatever.

i give chase, bust holes in the mazda boys ego,
then set my sights on the jetta.  he's apparently
sporting 8Vs of power, cuz i worked it like
timberlake at a jenny craig convention.  pulled,
turned, stuffed, dismissed.

traffic was kinda heavy, so i was trying not to
go too nutty (i.e. kept almost all passing to the
left-hand lanes, and kept all shoulders
off-limits).  mazda's disappeared, but the
jetta's pure gimp, cuz he's back for more.  as
he's pullign up behind me, i notice a
s-l-a-m-m-e-d mk3 cabrio in the middle lane,
minding his own.  i pass him at about 130-140,
but he doesn't budge.  the mk2 passes by, then
slips past me n the right into the middle lane,
and i notice the cabrio's headlights come out
into my lane.  he pulls past me, sounding like a
fucking barely muffled jet, and blows out a
massive black cloud and a fair amount of flame.

i'm up for it.  hook, line, and sinker.  this kid
is packing, and now i'm the gimp.  hurt me, i
wanna know what pain is.

mk2 jetta is nonexistant at this point.  i
honestly can't say where he disappeared to.  it's
all cabrio/GLX now, and i know that the GLX is
NOT going to come out on top.

all right lane at this point.  there's three cars
lined up side by side in every lane, but the
right lane is moving fastest.  i'm at about 5000
in third, getting off the throttle slightly to
give me a bit of room to get a run at this
land-based missle before he unloads another
metric tonne of unburnt fuel on the GLX.

the door is just about open, and i nail third. 
i'm gaining on him quick, but i'm also fairly
sure that there's a smidge of boost lag at work
here, and am not altogether surprised.  he's
pulled into the middle lane again, and i've cut
hard left and didn't even get to match noses when
he just fucking walked away.  i was doing about
205-210.  he walked.  nah.  ran.  better yet, he
accelerated away from me.  with authority.  fuck.

i thought, "not bad.  he didn't pull away as hard
as i thought he would."

well, today, i called up someone at a local TO
shop that specializes in turboing vws.  i asked
him if he knew anyone that's rolling around in a
VR turbo mk3 cabrio.  i told him where i
witnessed this beast, and how i thought that i
kept up fairly well, but wasn't sure if the guy
was playing with me or not.  he said, "i was
playing with you."

damn.

small world.  the one kid that i call about it
just happens to be the kid that didn't just feed
me.  he fuckin spanked me, made me miss dinner
and sent me straight to bed.

dirty.

forced induction VR6 is the only way.
