The thermostat was borked .. rusted all to shit apparently.  swapped
that out.  then the start ate itself.  would only work when cold
apparently.  we saw this, but thought it was the battery.  apparently
it was drawing 500amps when it was hot.

apparently the water pump is a little fucky too, so I'll be doing that
when I can find a warm garage.

but, the engine runs great!  thing starts in a 1/2 crank.  it's great!
 and the exaust doesn't leak anymore, even with only 3 bolts.

so, ups and downs
