I've run nothing but Hakka RSi's for the last three or four winters. They're the best snow tires for my driving style hands down. I wore through a set of Michelin Arctic Alpin's in less than one season - they're VERY soft, but wear quickly. I also wasn't impressed with the Alpin's snow traction - although they are a very good ice tire. The RSi's don't feel like a typical snow tire - they ride more like a quality all season. They're quiet, and have really good ice traction. They aren't a deep snow tire, but I was very impressed with their deep snow traction. The only time I ever got stuck with them was when I beached, and no tire will help you there... I get at least two seasons out of them too, which says alot - I'm notoriously hard on tires... The set I bought for my mom last winter still look like new, so I think the average driver will get at least three seasons out of them...
I get them for around $80 per tire, and often times he can deliver them to our side of the border since he comes here quite a bit... Shoot me an email if you want his contact info...
