There is a picture of the engine, it is definatley not a TDI. Look at the intake box, that's not TDI. That's the same 1.9TD I had in my Golden rot box.

TDI's were also intercooled and have visible piping on the right side of the engine, and have a nice cover that the TD's lacked.

I seriously doubt most of MSN autos' contributors know the difference between TD's and TDI's....Too busy kissing Hyundai's ass these days, who needs decent materials and real steel when you can have a car thats dirt cheap!

Unless this is a TDI swap, it's not a TDI.

The only way you could get a TDI in a MK3 was a Jetta. I think '96/'97 and up.

I might have a complete set for sale. I'll check with its current owner that abandoned it in my shop 8 months ago....(and haven't heard from since!) It's DE as well in the front.
