[VWoT] Boosht pressure
Sounds like hitting the meet tonight, for me, would be a goodd thing...
Ok, here's the deal:
1.8T AEB engine with stock everything except a removed airbox, (replaced with a custom built housing to keep heat and water out), a Cone K&N filter, and has been chipped with the APR 91 octane program.
The car runs fine.
The question I have is, with the boosht gauge now in place, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to see for numbers, vs. What I'm actually seeing and what I've seen with other 1.8T's.
At WOT, the gauge will spike to 15psi and slowly creep to 16 psi, sometimes but rarely 17 psi.
I'll get 15 psi all day long and it holds there strong until I shift or let off. (Love the DV/Woosh Valve)
Other cars appear to peek at around 18-ish then fall off slowly to 15 and hold, repeat.
(Most cars I've seen chipped peek at 20-ish and fall off to 18 and hold.)
Any idea what I should be seeing or where to start troubleshooting, should you guys thing something is wrong?
If that's normal for this car, however and you guys say 'leave it/be happy', then done.
Like I say, the car appears to work really well. I just don't know what I don't know, or what to expect.
TIA Folks,
Jer.
