Porsche is probably privately owned. 
At one time Porsche was a subsidiary of VW now the tables have turned. 

Its funny because Ferdinand Porsche was comissioned to design the Beetle by Hitler, who created VW. Porsche began to make his own cars (ie. The 356) and he used readily available & and easy to access VW parts. 

Porsche family members have always been actively involved with VW, either on the board of directors, executives or President.

Couldn't find anything stating the exact ownership %'s of Porsche though
